Dogecoin Weekly Data Report — August 31–September 6, 2026
The dashboard at a glance
Price recovered the prior week's give-back; usage held nearly flat. That combination — the first in our tracked window — is the story of this dashboard. As of Sunday, September 6, 2026:
| Price (weekly close) | $0.0909 (+10.8%) |
| Market capitalization | $14.16B (+10.8%) |
| Daily transactions (weekly avg) | 25,807 (-3.9%) |
| Daily active addresses (weekly avg) | 37,943 (-2.5%) |
| Block production | 1,367 blocks/day |
| Miner revenue (issuance) | $1.24M/day |
| Weekly volume (Gate.io) | $2.30B (+31.6%) |
| Circulating supply | 155.8B DOGE |
Price is the Gate.io DOGE/USDT Sunday close (cross-checked against CoinEx, maximum weekly discrepancy $0.000049). Transactions and active addresses are CoinMetrics TxCnt and AdrActCnt, averaged across the week's seven days. Block counts and supply are CoinMetrics BlkCnt and SplyCur. Market cap is computed from on-chain supply times spot price.
The week in price
The week was a floor, a breakout, and a push: Monday–Tuesday held the August base ($0.08012 intraday low on Sep 2, never broken on a closing basis), Wednesday broke out of the falling channel (+7.4%), Thursday paused, and the weekend pushed to $0.0952 intraday before settling at $0.0909 — above the $0.09 round level into the new week.
| Day | Close | Day change | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aug 31 (Mon) | $0.0829 | Floor retest begins | |
| Sep 1 (Tue) | $0.0817 | −1.4% | Intraday low $0.08067 |
| Sep 2 (Wed) | $0.0817 | +0.1% | Intraday $0.08012; ETF −$763K same day |
| Sep 3 (Thu) | $0.0878 | +7.4% | Channel breakout; whales at 400M/5d |
| Sep 4 (Fri) | $0.0848 | −3.5% | Pause; profit-taking |
| Sep 5 (Sat) | $0.0897 | +5.8% | Week's intraday high $0.09515 |
| Sep 6 (Sun) | $0.0909 | +1.4% | Close above $0.09 |
Four weeks of closes
Zooming out, the month-long squeeze cycle has now resolved — for the moment — in the middle: neither the August high nor the August floor, but a recovery that holds the base and eyes the range top:
| Week (Mon–Sun) | Sunday close | Weekly change |
|---|---|---|
| Aug 10–16 | $0.0696 | — |
| Aug 17–23 | $0.0934 | +34.2% |
| Aug 24–30 | $0.0821 | −12.1% |
| Aug 31–Sep 6 | $0.0909 | +10.8% |
Net over the three weeks: +30.6% from the August 16 close to the September 6 close. Weekly changes are computed on unrounded closes.
On-chain usage: the quiet that matters
Here is the number that makes this week different. Price rose 10.8% — and daily transactions averaged 25,807, down just 3.9% on the week, with active addresses at 37,943, down 2.5%. After three weeks of usage moving as a high-beta echo of price (up 20% with the squeeze, down 15% with the unwind), this week usage essentially held its level while price rallied. That is not the divergence signal — usage did not rise while price fell, and one week is not a trend — but it is the closest approach yet, and the elasticity collapsed: from ~1.2x price movement to ~0.3x.
The scale check, as always: $549,000 of market cap per daily transaction, up from $476K — market value repriced faster than workload again. But the direction of the elasticity is the series to watch. If usage holds flat-to-rising through the coming macro week, the 'usage is just sentiment' read weakens for the first time with data behind it.
Mining and the chain's clock
The chain produced an average of 1,367 blocks per day this week (CoinMetrics BlkCnt) — the steadiest week of the month, a few blocks under the nominal 1,440, an average block time near 63 seconds. Four consecutive weeks have now printed between 1,360 and 1,367 blocks a day: the clock is the one series on this dashboard with no narrative in it at all.
There is no staking rate to report, because Dogecoin is pure proof-of-work: there is nothing to stake and no yield to quote. Any dashboard showing a DOGE 'staking APY' is describing a centralized wrapper, not the chain.
Fees: what a transfer actually costs
Our fee figures are current-time snapshots — the historical daily fee series is not available from a source we can verify, so we publish the snapshot and label it. As of mid-September, the median transaction fee prints at 0.0334 DOGE, about $0.0028 (Blockchair). The week's observation: a +10.8% price move and a channel breakout produced nothing on the fee side — no congestion, no spike. The fee market has now ignored a squeeze, an unwind, and a breakout in the same month.
| Transfer | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| DOGE transfer (median fee, current snapshot) | ~$0.0028 |
| TRON USDT transfer, paying TRX bandwidth directly | ~$0.20 (1.05 TRX) |
| TRON USDT transfer, using rented energy | ~$0.02 (0.12 TRX) |
For USDT movements specifically, renting energy on TRON cuts the cost by roughly 90% versus paying bandwidth directly — which is why we send readers comparing stablecoin transfer costs to Tronsell's energy rental rather than pretending DOGE's fee is the only number in the comparison.
Supply and issuance
Circulating supply stood at 155.8 billion DOGE at week's end (CoinMetrics SplyCur), with roughly 13.67M DOGE added per day by the block subsidy — 1,367 blocks × 10,000 DOGE. At the weekly close that issuance was worth about $1.24M per day, up 11% in dollar terms on the week, price-led as always. Annualized, supply growth runs near 3.2%, with no maximum supply by design.
What changed this week
- Price: +10.8% to $0.0909 — the August floor held its retest and the falling channel broke out.
- Volume: $2.30B on Gate.io (+31.6% week over week) — the breakout days carried the turnover.
- Usage: transactions −3.9% (25,807/day avg), active addresses −2.5% (37,943/day avg) — essentially flat while price rallied; the elasticity collapsed from ~1.2x to ~0.3x.
- Chain clock: 1,367 blocks/day average (~63s block time) — the steadiest week of the month.
- Institutional: ETF complex logged −$763K (Sep 2), its biggest outflow since early July — funds sold the retest that on-chain whales bought.
Reading the numbers like an analyst
Two reads worth doing every week. First, the elasticity check. Three weeks of data now form a pattern and its first exception: usage moved ~1.2x price in both directions during the squeeze cycle, then ~0.3x during this week's rally. The divergence signal we watch for is usage flat or rising while price falls; this week's flat-while-rising is its mirror image and a weaker one — but after three weeks of lockstep, a break in the pattern is itself information. Second, the who-bought check. The week's buyers were on-chain accumulation (400M DOGE over five days) while the fund channel sold (−$763K). Whale-led rallies have a different signature from flow-led ones: they defend levels rather than chase them, which is consistent with the week's tape — a floor held, a channel broken, no vertical chase into the close.
What the numbers mean for you
If you hold DOGE as a position, the dashboard says the recovery is structurally healthier than the August squeeze — a floor that held, whale accumulation underneath, and usage that did not need the rally. Size for the calendar, not the chart: a Fed decision on September 16–17 can reprice the tape in one session. If you use DOGE to move value, nothing changed: a transfer still costs under a cent and confirms in about a minute. If you are comparing chains for stablecoin payments, run the full comparison — DOGE's ~$0.0028 median fee versus TRON's ~$0.02 with rented energy — instead of quoting any single number out of context. And if you are watching for the real signal, watch the transaction series through the macro week: flat would be notable, rising would be new.

Note on market-cap discrepancies: some aggregators list a higher circulating supply than CoinMetrics' on-chain SplyCur, which makes their market caps read higher. We compute from on-chain supply times spot price and label the source on every figure — when trackers disagree, we would rather show our work than pick the biggest number.
